- Abstract:
- The geochemical characteristics of granite body in Changpai area of Changjiang uranium orefield, the northern Guangdong, were studied. The results show that the granite body has the characteristics of high Si and alkalis, w(K2O)>w(Na2O), medium-high Al, and low Ti, Fe, Mg, etc.; the granite body belongs to the typical S-type; according to the primitive mantle-normalized trace element spider diagrams, the large ion lithophile elements including Rb, Th and U are enriched, and the Ba, Nb, Sr, Eu, etc. are depleted; the chondrite-normalized REE patterns are obvious right deviation type. The contents and ratio characteristics of major and trace elements show that the granite body derives from the continental crust material with high maturity; the source materials are composed by the poor clay sandstone; the granite body forms in extensional tectonic settings. The study on the uranium production shows that the Indosinian and Early Yanshanian granite bodies in Changpai area have high regional geochemical background of uranium, and the uranium in granite body suffers reforming activation and redistribution, so that the granite body has higher production potential of uranium.
