Abstract:
The Lake hutrophication is severe commo nly in some areas of China as a result of rapid dev elo pment of social economy in last few decades. The wetland, as the linkage between the terrestrial and aquatic environments , may perform the buffer and nutrient sto rag e functions. The wetland vegetation, to some extent, can no t only intercept the mineral transpo rted from catchment, but also purify the w ater flow ing into the lake .With the destruction of wetland plants, the wetland eliminates the functions of the buffers and nutrient sto rag e.The scientific preventative measurements and restorative management require to provide mo re detailed background data and the relationship between we tland and lake nutrient state .Lake sediment containing large amount of ecological, phy sical and chemical information can be used to reconstruct the past changes of lake and its catchment .The lake eutrophicatio n pro cess of Lo ngg an Lake was discussed for the last one century based on the we t plants pollen , magnetic parameter and total phosphorus analysis , combining with 210 Pb activity profile from a sho rt core of central Langgan Lake , located in the boundary betw een Hubei and Anhui Pro vinces. The beginning of lake eutro phication during first half part of the 20th century was related with the accelerated soil erosio n in w atershed deduced from pollen and mag netism , w hile the enhanced trophic condition since 1970 s w ith the wide usage of chemical fer tilizer as w ell as the destruction of we t land vegetation , resulting in the weakened of wet land interception function .The degeneration of w etland vegetation caused the land nutrient discharges by human activities around the lake ca tchment .The lake nutrient enriched relatively , following by the lake eutrophication at present .
