Abstract:
Biofilm, especially bacteria has a signify effect on the process of phosphorus transference. This paper present a review on the composition and progresses of biofilm studies recently, including the interaction between biogenic phosphorus and sediment, suspended particulate, alge, bacteria, the influence of microorganisms on the biogenic phosphorus circulation and their detection methods. The future emphasis of research should be placed on the interaction mechanism between biogenic matter phosphorus and sediment, suspended particulate, alge, bacte- ria, which could give further insight on the process and mechanism of eutrophication.
