Abstract:
By geochemical analysis, the chemical elements and a variety of chemical element indicators contained in the Middle Pleistocene Epoch loess-paleosoil sequence of the source area of Huaihe River are analyzed. It is found that since Middle Pleistocene Epoch the climate change of the region is dominated by hot humid climate, strong oxidation and leaching and shows lower temperature during HT-1~ HT-3, higher temperature during HT-4~ HT-7, and relatively lower temperature during HT-8. During Middle Pleistocene Epoch, the climate experienced a change from the early cold dry to damp-heat, and a turn from middle humidity-cap to later warm and moist.
