Abstract:
Based on the field investigations and the indoor finite element analysis to a NNW-trending right-lateral strike-slip active fault which caused the road engineering hazards in Qinghai Province. The road hazard mechanism which caused by the creep motion of the active fault was discussed. The result showed that road hazards were mainly distributed in the upper wall; shear cracks in these places were in the south; and compresso-shear cracks were in the north; the early crack in the intersection started from the south of the highway and then extended to the middle.
