Abstract:
Land use change impacts regional sustainable development. In the context of ecological civilization construction and the “dual carbon” goals, study on the carbon emissions and ecosystem service value(ESV)induced by land use change, along with their interrelations, is crucial for achieving carbon neutrality and balancing economic and social development. Taking the Urumqi metropolitan area as the research area, based on the land use, socioeconomic and energy consumption data from 2000 to 2020, the grid analysis method was used to divide the target units, explore the spatiotemporal characteristics of land use carbon emissions and ESV, and dual-variable spatial automatic correlation model was used to analyze the interaction between carbon emission and ESV. The results show that ① during the study period, the construction land in Urumqi metropolitan area continues to expand rapidly, with the areas of cultivated land and forestland increasing, and the areas of grassland and water decreasing; ② the net carbon emissions from land use are positive during the study period and the upward trend is obvious; from northwest to southeast, the carbon emissions along the directional urban agglomeration axis are higher than those in other areas; the area with high carbon emission spreads to the northeast year by year; ③ ESV decreases year by year, spatially lower in the northwest and higher in the west and central part; ④ there is a negative correlation between land use carbon emissions and ESV; there are four types of agglomeration, including high-high, low-low, high-low, and low-high.
